When I was younger and living in the Cincinnati area, we used to go to Homearama every year. It was always neat to see what homes looked like that sold for $500K-$1M+
As an adult, I tried to continue the tradition when I could. I haven't been in a while and I got the chance to check it out this past weekend. Wow! A lot of great rooms, architecture, decorating and landscaping! There were only 7 homes but it was worth it to see them all. Usually there are double that amount of homes and it was nicer, actually, as it is always hot and it is more difficult to choose a favorite (or 2). Here are some pictures I took of the more interesting things I saw. Enjoy!
Autumn or Fall began on Wednesday and it is my favorite time of year. Ever since I can remember, I have loved this season. Pumpkins, gourds, leaves, cool in the air, hayrides, hot cocoa, apples, squash, apple cider, the colors, all make this a special time for me.
I started working on an orchard farm, Irons Fruit Farm, when I was 15 and actually still do website work for them. So, I have been working for them for 29 years (do the math). I learned a lot about fruits and vegetables, especially apples and pumpkins. I grew up on a farm and before that, my grandfather had a fruit stand. I loved sitting on the counter and eating plums. So, it was natural to move on to the fruit farm.
I did a lot of things at the fruit farm from tours of the orchard, tours of the pumpkin patch, stocking, cashier, bakery, fruit grading (sorting), cider bottling and anything else you can think of. It was some of the greatest times of my life. The busiest time at the farm was Fall and it was so much fun. This solidified my love of the season.
Get out to a bonfire, head out to an orchard, drink some cider, pick a pumpkin while riding on a hayride. Enjoy the season before it gets cold!
I am excited to be starting my own business! I have done these types of things for most of my life and been told by several people that I need to do it on a more regular basis, so here I am! It can be daunting to start your own business with the legality, taxes, website, social media, there is a lot to take care of!
I am happy to do this and I can't wait to get started on my first wedding plan tomorrow!! I am also very excited to be partnering with CastlePost and delivering WedPlan-101 where I will teach new brides and grooms how to pull off a spectacular wedding! (Shh, I am still in negotiations with the Castle!)
Check back each week to see what other blogs I have posted. Tips, hints, ideas - all right here for you! Also check out all the social media links at the bottom of the screen!
